This fund transitioned from a multicap offering to a large & mid cap fund in 2018. While this involved hiking its presence in mid-caps to align with the revised mandate, it retains a large-cap tilt. Its top bets are mostly frontline index heavyweights even as the mid-cap exposure is retained towards the mid- and tail- end of the portfolio.

The fund manager places high emphasis on sufficient liquidity in this portion. He prefers companies that have the ability to generate consistent cash flows, have a proven business model with efficient management and available at reasonable price. The fund suffered a dip in return profile in 2021, lagging behind its peers, but continues to show superiority in cushioning downside better than most peers. This, along with the presence of a skilled fund manager provides comfort in its long term profile.
