Having an Aadhaar-linked pension account is a must. However, it is not necessary for the mobile number to be linked with the Aadhaar.
Where to get it?
The DLC can be obtained from JeevanPramaan centres such as banks, government offices, post offices, or JeevanPramaan app. The app can be downloaded from https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/. An approved biometric fingerprint or iris scanning device is required.
If a mobile application is being used, any person other than the pensioner can key in their details like Aadhar and mobile number followed by the pensioner’s details. An OTP is sent to the email id and mobile number for authentication. After OTP verification, the application can be used for generating DLC.
Next, information about the pensioner such as Aadhaar number, pension payment order, bank account details and mobile number needs to be provided. Once biometric authentication is completed, a text message is sent to the mobile number along with Jeevan Pramaan certificate ID. The pension disbursing agency can now access the DLC from Jeevan Pramaan website.
Points to note
- Biometric device is not required for Jeevan Pramaan Face app (Android), as it uses the mobile camera to capture the face
- Life certificates are stored in a life certificate repository and are available at any time for the pensioner as well as the pension disbursing agency.
